2 in 5 Singaporeans would rather be unemployed if they can't work from home




According to a poll conducted by the recruitment agency Randstad, about 2 in 5 of Singaporean employees choose not to accept employment if they cannot work from home.


About 1,000 Singaporean workers between the ages of 18 and 67 participated in the poll.


77% of study respondents respect remote work, with 42% indicating they wouldn't take a position that didn't allow them to work remotely.


Eighty percent of respondents indicated that flexible work hours were essential to them, while fifty percent of respondents indicated that their employers permitted flexible work hours.


52 percent of respondents indicated that their jobs permit remote work.


Approximately 40% of respondents stated they would rather be unemployed than unhappy in their job, while 50% said they would leave their employment if they couldn't enjoy life.
