Agong extends dateline for Malaysia gov't to be assembled

At 1.35 p.m., 25 minutes before the formal deadline, the Istana Negara's Facebook page announced that the Agong had granted a 24-hour extension till 2 p.m. on November 22.

In addition to calling for calm, the statement highlighted that the interim administration of Ismail Sabri continued to govern the country as normal.

Just after the announcement was issued, the Agong arrived at Gate Two to provide bento boxes to members of the press.

This has been a mainstay of political crises in Malaysia. The last time this occurred was during the Sheraton Move, when the Agong did not personally arrive but instead dispatched workers to dish out McDonald's lunches to media who were waiting.
