The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) urges Singaporeans with year-end vacation plans to submit their passport applications immediately.
ICA said on August 18 that individuals who submit their applications late risk not receiving their passports in time for their trips.
Applicants with expired passports or passports valid for less than six months must submit their applications immediately.
This is done to prevent another influx of applications at the end of the year and to provide ICA ample time to accommodate the demand for year-end travel.
Applications for passports can be submitted online using the ICA website or the MyICA Mobile app.
These platforms may also be utilized to verify the progress of a passport application.
Those who wish to take their own passport photos can consult the ICA's website for picture rules to minimize needless delays.
Applicants will be requested to submit a fresh photo if their previous submission does not adhere to passport specifications.
ICA will send an email or a pink notice card to people whose passports are available for pickup.
Online scheduling is available for passport collection at the ICA Building or any of the 29 approved post offices.
There are no additional fees associated with passport collecting at post offices.
Those with questions about passports should consult the ICA's FAQs or Live Chat on its website, or call the passport hotline at 68125555.
