The creator of Dota 2 has announced that Singapore will host The International 11 (TI11), the game's annual world championship competition .
The event will take place from October 20 to 30, with the top 16 Dota 2 teams in the globe battling in numerous playoff rounds before progressing to the Singapore Indoor Stadium finals.
Tickets to the Playoff Rounds at Suntec cost S$88 each day, while tickets to the Grand Finals at the same venue cost S$498 for two days.
There was a restriction of five tickets per day per individual.
However, the tickets reportedly sold out within an hour of the website's launch, with some disgruntled fans blaming scalpers.
Since then, scalpers have using Carousell to sell their merchandise at excessive markups.
One scalper was selling two finals tickets for S$5,500 apiece, or eleven times the original price.
Another scalper offering seats for S$1,700 claimed to have acquired sixty tickets.
