On Tuesday morning, a portion of the Audi service centre in Ubi was blown apart by an explosion, resulting in the evacuation of about 100 individuals and the injury of one.
The wounded individual fell and was transported to Raffles Hospital, according to the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
The explosion occurred at the building located at 55 Ubi Road 1 at around 8:55 a.m., according to SCDF.
As The Straits Times arrived, SCDF officers were observed inspecting the debris-strewn location.
SCDF stated in a Facebook post that when police got at the scene, there was no fire, but a piece of the structure had fallen.
Workers in the vicinity reported hearing a loud explosion in the morning and experiencing aftershocks.
A facilities manager at the seventh-floor office of Crocodile House, located in the building adjacent to the service center, reported hearing a loud explosion.
Mr. Kumar, a 57-year-old manager who wished to remain anonymous, stated, "The explosion shook the entire building, and the stacked boxes in the office collapsed.
"As I got outside, I found the wall had crumbled and glass pieces were spread throughout. Smoke was emanating from one of the tanks. Even my acquaintance in the adjacent Yi Guang building reported feeling the building tremble."
Audi said on Tuesday through Facebook that the Ubi 55 business building will be temporarily closed while investigations continue. Audi Singapore is working with authorities to determine the cause of the incident, the company said.
Until further notice, the Audi Service Facility at 55 Ubi Road 1 will also be closed.
