In the upcoming GE, Tan Cheng Bock has already declared his intention to run. PSP's team stands an amazing chance of winning, because PAP's team has never looked weaker. In GE 2020, the PAP team won by the slimmest of margins.
PAP's sunset
Since then, the anchor minister for the GRC stands charged for corruption by the CPIB, and has since retired from politics without much of a send-off from his party leader Lee Hsien Loong.
The secondary anchor minister has been dubbed as a "monitor lizard" due to his cautious housing policies being widely perceived as ineffective. Housing is an especially popular topic amongst younger voters looking for their first home, and this group of people happens to be swing voters in the electorate, free from the PAP loyalty that is so strong amongst the older generations.
This is more than likely to make up the 3% vote difference from GE2020.
PSP's sunrise?
Hazel Poa filed the Parliamentary motion asking about Iswaran's pay during the time he was suspended. Of course, pro-PAP supporters would argue that Iswaran would have been made to return the pay regardless, but Poa's motion resounded with many Singaporeans who are dissatisfied with high ministerial salaries.
For better or worse, Leong Mun Wai has made parliament a more entertaining and lively place. Whether it's demanding apologies, issuing apologies, or bringing his latest WhatsApp fake news into parliament, he is a catalyst for more heated debates in Parliament.
"Speaker, if the minister didn't ask me, I suggest you do not ask."
When PSP wins, he will be entering parliament not as an NCMP, but a full MP and also the Secretary-General of PSP.

What does this mean?
PSP's rise calls their allies into the spotlight as well. Don't forget that PSP has strong and powerful backers, such as Lee Hsien Yang and Tan Kin Lian. It is reasonable to assume that their voices and views will feature more strongly in Singaporean politics from now on.
