"Golfer Confronted by Mansplainer During Practice Session at Driving Range"
A TikTok user named Becca found herself dealing with an unwelcome and intrusive encounter while practicing her golf swings. During a session at a driving range, Becca was interrupted by a man who attempted to lecture her on her technique for over two hours, despite his own subpar shots.
Becca, who describes herself as a "wannabe golfer," expressed her frustration in a post, explaining that the man had been consistently mishitting his shots throughout her practice session. However, he still felt entitled to "mansplain" the finer points of golf to her. She wrote, "[T]his dude that’s been shanking and topping balls my entire practice session somehow thinks he’s in a position to mansplain to me how to golf!!! 😡😤 he was giving me 'advice' for like 2 hours…"
Feeling uncomfortable due to the man's presence, as he was accompanied by a group of other men, Becca refrained from speaking up. Additionally, all the other practice bays were occupied, leaving her with no option to move away.
In the TikTok video, which gained over 13 million views in just two weeks, Becca can be seen practicing alone when the off-camera man repeatedly addresses her as "girl" before criticizing her club face and the direction of her shots. Ironically, it was evident in the background that he was the one struggling with shanks (mishits) before approaching her.
The man even went so far as to demonstrate a swing for Becca to follow. Trying to maintain her composure, she responded with a simple "OK" and silently expressed her frustration by mouthing words along the lines of "STFU" when she turned away from him.
Becca further commented, "If you're gonna mansplain... at least know how to hit a golf ball."
Unfortunately, this was not the first time Becca had encountered mansplainers at the range. She revealed that such incidents happened "too often," especially when she was practicing alone. These encounters have caused unnecessary anxiety for her.
Many viewers sided with Becca, applauding her patience and highlighting the man's rudeness in addressing her as "girl" from the start.
