Indranee: Don't Forget We Protected WP also

In the recent parliamentary debates on the suspension of Minister S Iswaran, Leader of the House Indranee Rajah brought up the case of Raeesah Khan, where the Commitee of Privileges declared that Pritam Singh and Faisal Manap had been untruthful in their evidence while under oath:

"The specific offence in that case was dishonourable conduct and contempt. That falls squarely within Section 20 of the P(PIP)A. The COP had made its finding with regard to Mr Singh and Mr Manap. Mr Singh and Mr Manap of course dispute that. I understand that. That was the reason why we said it should go to Public Prosecutor. But this House - and the Committee of Privileges - would have been well within its rights to say we accept the findings of the COP and we act immediately under Section 20. But we didn't. We didn't, because we felt that as a matter of fairness, we should wait and see what the outcome of the proceedings were."
