Josephine Teo will take over Lawrence Wong as head of the PAP Community Foundation

Beginning next Monday, Minister for Communications and Information Josephine Teo will become the Chairman of the PAP Community Foundation (PCF) Council of Management (13 June).

On the same day, Teo will also assume the position of Chairman of the PCF Charity Management Committee.

She succeeds Lawrence Wong, who presided over the PCF Council of Management and PCF Charity Management Committee from 2016 to 2022.

PCF is the charitable and social wing of the People's Action Party.

Teo was a member of PCF's Executive Committee for twelve years, and served as its chairman from 2016 to 2020. In October 2020, she was named Vice Chairman of the PCF Council of Management.

Under Wong's leadership, the charitable foundation expanded its preschool services, with full-day childcare capacity almost doubling between 2016 and 2022, according to a PCF statement.

Wong was also responsible for expanding PCF Sparkletots' preschool services to purpose-built facilities. In addition, he sponsored further community projects, including the PCF Sparkle Support Package.

Wong said, "I am optimistic that PCF will continue to enhance the well-being of the community under Minister Josephine Teo's strong and seasoned leadership."

Teo said, "I am excited to serve as the next Chairman of PCF. PCF will continue to do its best to offer inexpensive, high-quality preschool education and to promote the well-being of elders and the community.
