NBCB = Nothing But Cheeseburgers
After a family returned their half-eaten burgers asking replacements, Nothing But Cheeseburgers (NBCB) Singapore owner Tommy Wong recently recorded a video encouraging consumers to stop from "unfair" behaviour towards food and beverage (F&B) enterprises.
"Basically, every time a client walks in, my employees are instructed to inform them that our cheeseburgers are cooked medium to medium-rare," Mr. Wong remarked in the video, adding that they guarantee the internal temperature of the patty is always safe to consume.
Therefore, customers often have no difficulty with this. The staff can satisfy clients who desire well-done patties, he noted.
However, a family of three purchased the burgers and, assuming they were told how the burgers are presented, returned their meals individually.
Mr. Wong stated that the son presented us with the half-eaten burger and requested a well-done patty.
They offered the son a new hamburger without any questioning.
He complied with the father's request for a well-done burger by stating, "We're already doing one, so why not make another?"
Observing a pattern, the mother requests a new burger. Please do not do this to F&B, the video caption pleaded. It is quite unfair to them.
Soon thereafter, the father arrived with a similar complaint. Mr. Wong saw that his burger was even smaller than one-half.
Mr. Wong noted that the profit margin in the sector is quite low. If it's legitimate, I can accept it.
"It's a tragedy that this occurred to your business. It's unfortunate they took advantage of your generosity. Alvin Mah, a TikTok user, remarked in a comment that he hopes this would not occur again.
Mr. Wong remarked that money was not a concern. “There are instances of people who came with not enough money, we also just feed them. Genuine cases, we are ok one. It’s the way they did it.”
