F&B Lady Boss

The 38 year old is a girl-boss in her own right. Although she is heiress to her father Anthony Wong's business, she did not immediately join the business but worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a foreign service officer for 2 years after her graduation. Her father who introduced her to foie gras at a young age has been an inspiration for her.

Bernadette is the Director of Creative Eateries which spearheads 21 F&B brands. Some may sound familiar such as Bangkok Jam and Suki-Ya Hotpot.

Bernadette is also an executive committee member of the Singapore Business Federation’s Young Business Leaders Network. She has given speeches at business forums and educational institutes such as SUSS.

Female faces from other parties

Aside from the PAP, potential lady candidates from opposition parties have also been spotted. Angela Oon, who was recently seen in the Progress Singapore Party (PSP) videos, may look familiar to some.

Angela Oon

Angela Oon is in fact no stranger to politics. She began her political career with the Workers' Party and contested in Nee Soon GRC in 2011. Her passionate speeches captured voters interests' back then, who even gave her the nickname "Angel".

A setback came when Angela was embroiled in controversy following her abrupt departure from the Workers' Party. There were rumors she was one of three women involved in alleged affairs with former Workers Party Member Yaw Shin Leong. She has been spotted in walkabouts with the PSP.

The upcoming GE is shaping up to be an interesting one with the introduction of the various new candidates. For some voters, looks may matter more, while for others, qualifications and the heart to serve takes precedence. What do you think of these new candidates?
