After a NUS student shared a TikTok video showcasing the items that students leave unattended and in disarray to reserve seats in the university's library, netizens have raised concerns about the negligence of the librarian and the lack of consideration of these students towards others.
On level 6 of NUS Central Library, students have access to a conducive environment with large tables and individual booths designed for focused study sessions. However, some students have been occupying seats by leaving their belongings behind for extended periods, depriving other students of a place to sit and study.
These belongings range from small items like pencil cases, snacks, water bottles, mugs, and jackets to more valuable items like laptops and iPads.
