On video, a youth in Singapore is shown causing a community cat to "smoke" what seems to be a lighted cigarette.
Another individual at the scene recorded the incident, which was then shared to the Instagram account @sudharshanann.
The event was reported to Mothership on September 12, 2022, by a reader who submitted the Instagram Story (IGS).
The reader confirmed that the Instagram user resided in Singapore, but noted that they were not acquainted.
A young man approached a snoozing communal cat in the 15-second film.
Then, he tapped the cat and held out the lighted end of the cigarette, which the feline sniffed inquisitively.
After discovering that the odor is unpleasant, the cat attempts to escape the circumstance by leaving its resting place.
However, the youngster prevented the cat from fleeing by restraining it with his left hand while spinning the cigarette over and forcing it in the animal's face for many seconds.
The video ended with the cat leaving.
