Philip Chan really sibei dangerous

I'm sure most of us have never even heard of Philip Chan before this week, but the man is dangerous. Straits Times has already revealed that he was one of 30 representatives invited to China to attend their parliament session in Mar 2023, and facilitated an illegal public gathering in Singapore in 2019 in support of the pro-Beijing Hong Kong police.

What else?

Philip Chan's other activities in Singapore

In his capacity as president of the Singapore Kowloon Club, Philip Chan has been observed:

Donating money to local NGO Pertapi:

Organising a Family Fun Day at Macpherson with Tin Peiling as the guest of honour:

and interviewing local celebrities such as Jack Neo.

Affiliated to PRC media outlet Phoenix Media?

He has multiple interviews with Phoenix Media, which is a China state-owned TV network founded by Liu Changle, a People's Liberation Army officer and journalist. He is still an advisor to the CCP.

Although Phoenix Media calls itself a "Hong Kong" media outlet, it only holds a non-domestic TV licence in Hong Kong. Draw your own conclusions about how neutral this media outlet is.

Affiliated to Beijing sympathiser Clifton Ko?

Philip Chan has also interviewed Clifton Ko, who appears to be a Hong Kong director. Yet Ko is clearly a Beijing sympathiser - he publicly spoke out in support of the Hong Kong police during the 2019 Hong Kong extradition riots.

Now of course we're not saying that these Singaporeans have been cultivated. Politicians in particular have to interact with all sorts of people daily, and continue to advance Singapore's interests. But Philip Chan's activities do warrant closer supervision, given his dubious links with China.
