Two teenagers who recorded themselves smoking and vaping in a Sentosa cable car have been reported to the police, according to the operator of the cable car, Mount Faber Recreation Company.
The 10-minute video was released to the social media site TikTok on January 28 and depicts three teens riding a cable car from the Imbiah Lookout station to the Merlion station on the Sentosa line.
On Sunday evening, TikTok user shu2899 made his account private after the video received about 25,000 views.
As the cable car begins to ascent, one of the teens can be seen removing an e-vaporizer from his bag and beginning to smoke while conversing with his friends. The teen filming the footage then takes out a pack of cigarettes and starts smoking. Most of the time, the third teen cannot be seen in the video.
When the cable car neared the Imbiah Lookout station, the teen can be heard yelling "Keep, keep, keep!" to his vaping friend, who took one more puff before placing the e-vaporizer back in his bag.
In response to enquiries from The Straits Times, Mount Faber Leisure Group said it had been informed about the video on social media.
"Smoking in cable car cabins is absolutely forbidden, and "no smoking" signs are posted at all cable car stations and cabins. Offenders will be held accountable to the authorities,” stated the group’s spokesperson.
