The identities of a couple accused of failing to deliver luxury items worth $32 million to customers have been revealed to the public by the police, who are now seeking information on their locations.
Pi Jiapeng, a 26-year-old Singaporean, and Pansuk Siriwipa, a 27-year-old Thai lady, were arrested together on Wednesday night (July 20).
Authorities stated on Wednesday that they departed the country on July 4 in the container compartment of a lorry.
Arrest warrants have been issued for them, as have Interpol red notices.
Tradenation and Tradeluxury, two enterprises linked to the couple, are also under investigation by the authorities.
Unknown to the public, the pair was assisted in their unlawful departure from Singapore by a Malaysian man named Mohamed Alias, who was 40 at the time.
According to the spokeswoman, the woman and her husband were hidden in a container compartment of a truck. His hearing has been pushed back until Friday.
When it comes to unlawfully entering or leaving Singapore, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICA) has said that it is working closely with the necessary authorities.
Pi was taken into custody by authorities on June 27 on suspicion of complicity in cheating. As soon as the inquiry was complete, his passport was taken and he was freed on bond.
In addition to supporting police investigations, Siriwipa's passport was handed to the authorities on 30 June. According to authorities, the pair has now gone missing.
Since June, at least 180 complaints have been filed against the pair. Customers who paid for fancy watches or handbags from the pair said they never received goods, despite making advance payments.
The police claimed they are working closely with their international counterparts to find the pair and the proceeds of their illicit activities.
