Approximately 1200 people attended "Protect Singapore Townhall - Safeguarding Our Future," at the Singapore Expo convention center to advocate for the retention of Section 377A of the Penal Code and the protection of marriage.
Over on a Reddit thread, netizens have their say on the event.
User 6Hee9 posted his view of the event and said "repealing 377A will not make me suddenly leave my wife and turn gay".
Another user by the name "amerpsy8888" sarcastically commented that 377A is like a "talisman that stops many of us from becoming gay.
One "Matthewlovestomine" commented that the event only garnered 1200 people as compared to Pinkdot.
"lormeeorbust" chimed in with his comment of other countries are scared of invasion but Singapore scared of gay people.
