The two Deputy Prime Ministers of Singapore have addressed letters of congratulations to their Malaysian counterparts, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, on their recent cabinet appointments, with the hopes of meeting them soon.
Lawrence Wong and Heng Swee Keat, among others, highlighted in letters to their counterparts that the conclusion of the Framework Agreements in the digital and green economies in August 2022 will serve as the basis for further cooperation in these burgeoning areas.
Both vice-prime ministers of the republic expressed confidence in their ability to seek new avenues for collaboration and looked forward to working closely to develop the bilateral relationship.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the prime minister of Malaysia, has chosen two vice prime ministers to his new cabinet of 27 ministers, which was revealed on December 2, 2022.
Fadillah, the senior vice-president of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), has been named Plantation and Commodities Minister. Ahmad Zahid, the chairman of Barisan Nasional (BN), has also been chosen as Minister of Rural and Regional Development.
On December 3, both were sworn in as deputy prime ministers in the presence of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
