Influencer and streamer Ng Sher Ren recently shared that her father suffered a heart attack while she was live-streaming a game on Wednesday, August 31 at about 9 p.m.
Ng said in a TikTok video on the same day about the tragedy that if she had responded later, her father may not have survived.
In the captions, she wrote, "Threw the game but saved my dad's life."
In the 30-second clip, Ng could be seen engaged in an intensive round of the tactical first-person shooting game Valorant.
She was conversing with a teammate when she heard a noise behind her. She suddenly turned around, removed her headphones, and asked in Mandarin, "what?"
As soon as she realized something was wrong, she informed her teammates in a distressed tone, "Wait, wait, my father isn't feeling well" and immediately quit the game.
"I apologize if you were one of my teammates," Ng said in the captions.
Ng said to AsiaOne that while caring to her father, she saw he was having trouble breathing.
Her father was subsequently transported to Tan Tock Seng Hospital when she chose to call an ambulance.
Thankfully, his status is presently "stable," and he "just got out of ICU yesterday," she claimed, adding that she was alone at home when the tragedy occurred.
Ng stated in her TikTok captions that her father's heart once stopped when he was in the hospital and that doctors had to conduct a treatment to unblock the obstruction in his heart.
"We did not anticipate it to be a heart attack, as he had only reported feeling ill," Ng told AsiaOne.
