A photograph showing discriminatory words made towards the LGBTQ community during a school assembly in Singapore has surfaced online.
The image depicts a presentation about "community health" with the heading "What are LGBT so proud of? imprinted at the slide's top.
The presentation featured stereotypes against members of the LGBTQ community, including the lines "33% of homosexuals have drinking issues" and "33% of homosexuals are pedophiles and rapists."
School's response
To further verify the charges against the school, a statement addressing the matter was allegedly sent to secondary 4 students.
The message came from "Mr. Pang, Ms. Lim, and Mrs. Chin," who thanked the students for their comments and concerns over the in question assembly.
They stated that the school takes the problem seriously and that the principal would address the whole student body on Monday (18 July).
According to sources within the school, the presentation was not approved by the administration and was delivered purely by the school counselor, with no other organizations participating.
