In the upcoming Call of Duty game, a map modeled on the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix track will be included.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, the next chapter in the first-person shooter video game franchise, will include the Marina Bay Grand Prix as a playable level.
According to the game's creators, Infinity Ward, the six-versus-six multiplayer level will take place on an urban racetrack, near the pits and paddock.
At the last Call of Duty League Championship Weekend in Los Angeles, California, the video flythrough of the map was shown.
In the video flythrough, it is evident that the map is a digital recreation of the Marina Bay Street Circuit, with open-wheelers resembling Formula 1 vehicles, Marina Bay track logos, and the Singapore Flyer prominently included.
There does not appear to be any official Formula 1 material in the game.
The unofficial F1 and Call of Duty crossover is entirely surprising, but it is not the first time it has occurred. Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion and Call of Duty aficionado, voiced a non-playable character named Carl Hamilton in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
The Call of Duty series is one of the most successful video game franchises of all time, with over 400 million units sold worldwide.
The 2022 Singapore Grand Prix will be held on the Singapore Street Circuit on October 2, prior to the October 28 release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
