Following the public controversy that surrounded her appointment as Grab Singapore's director of public affairs and policy last week, Tin Pei Ling will move to a different role within the company.
The ride-hailing business said in a statement on Friday that she will now be responsible for corporate growth.
A representative for the ride-hailing and technology company explained, "Her responsibilities will include realizing synergies across our investments and acquisitions and assisting with strategy formulation."
In her new position, Pei Ling will no longer be active in public relations and policy work in Singapore, nor will she represent Grab in public policy conversations with Singapore government officials.
In a second statement released on Friday, the People's Action Party (PAP) stated that her position at Grab had been changed to Director (Corporate Development).
"Her primary responsibilities in this post will not involve government relations in Singapore," according to a PAP statement.
Her appointment as director of public relations and policy provoked criticism and issues over a potential conflict of interest with her employment in the government.
