The irony
The Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (POFMA) Office issued a conditional warning to the administrator of the Truth Warriors website for disseminating false information that led people to believe that Covid-19 vaccinations are ineffective at preventing the spread of the virus.
The warning given on Tuesday pertained to two articles published on the website in August of last year, headed Two Top Virologists' Terrifying Warnings About Covid Injections: Ignored by Government and the Mainstream Media and Most Vaccinated Countries Have the Most Covid Cases.
Wednesday, the Pofma Office issued a 12-month conditional warning to the website's administrator, a 47-year-old woman, for "making assertions knowing or having reasonable grounds to suspect that they are false and likely to harm the public interest."
The statement said that the inaccuracies went contrary to attempts to combat the Covid-19 virus.
According to the Pofma Office, on October 24 of last year, an unidentified lady was instructed by Pofma to post correction notices on the website informing Singaporeans of the inaccuracies.
During the inquiry, the lady said she had verified the credentials of the original writers of the papers, Joel S. Hirschhorn and Rodney Atkinson, but was unable to confirm the veracity of the published material.
If she commits a second offense during the 12-month warning period, she may be prosecuted for the initial offense.
