A pasar malam stall in Woodlands recently came under fire for allegedly selling pork despite employing a woman wearing a tudung, a headscarf commonly worn by Muslim women.
The absence of a halal certificate and the presence of a tudung-wearing staff member led to concerns of misrepresentation. A concerned netizen visited the stall and recorded his conversation with the employees, who were unable to provide clear answers regarding the ingredients used.
The stall's boss claimed that the menu containing pork dishes was an old one. The incident has prompted calls for authorities to intervene and provide clarity on the matter.
